Strong Roots Collective LLC was created from the belief that strong communities begin with strong families. Inspired by lived experience and a commitment to breaking cycles that have affected many Native families, Strong Roots was built to help reconnect parents with cultural teachings and strengthen the next generation of leaders.
Strong Roots Collective is a Native-led initiative focused on strengthening families and restoring cultural teachings within Native communities.
Across many Native nations, generations of disruption to traditional parenting systems and family leadership structures have left many parents raising children without having experienced strong models of parenting themselves.
Strong Roots was created to help rebuild those systems by reconnecting families with cultural teachings, strengthening parents during pregnancy and early childhood, and supporting fathers and men as leaders within their families and communities.
Through culturally grounded prenatal and fatherhood leadership programs, Strong Roots works with tribal nations and community programs to build stronger families and healthier communities for future generations.
Our Story
Strong Roots Collective was created by Jennifer and Michael Stone with the goal of strengthening families and rebuilding leadership traditions within Native communities.
Michael’s own childhood reflects an experience shared by many Native families today. Growing up without consistent guidance and strong models of fatherhood, he experienced firsthand how the absence of support and leadership within families can shape the next generation.
Those experiences helped shape a deep commitment to ensuring that future fathers, mothers, and families have stronger support systems than many previous generations were given.
Through both personal experience and professional work with families, Jennifer and Michael recognized the need for culturally grounded programs that support parents early, reconnect families with cultural teachings, and strengthen leadership within fathers, mothers, and communities.
Strong Roots was created to help rebuild those family foundations so that the next generation grows up with stronger guidance, stronger identity, and stronger communities.
Our Vision for Strong Native Families
Strong Roots was created with the belief that strong communities begin with strong families.
By Supporting parents early, reconnecting families with cultural teachings, and strengthening fathers and mothers as leaders, Strong Roots aims to help rebuild the family systems that allow children, families, and communities to thrive.
The goal is not only to support families today, but to help strengthen the next generation of leaders who will carry forward culture, teachings, and community responsibility.
